Wildfires destroy homes in California.
A massive wildfire in California has spread to another location, causing massive fires. The massive wildfires destroyed homes in remote areas and made it difficult for firefighters to operate. This is according to the release from the AP on July 26.
The Daxie Fire has been raging since July 14, destroying many homes and other structures. The Daxie Fire, along with the Fly Fire, spread to the Indian Falls community in northern California.
Smoke billowed from the flames and from the Daxie Fire, making it difficult for airborne firefighters to see and assist lower-level firefighters. Air quality south of Lake Lahoe and across Nevada is deteriorating, affecting public health.
According to fire officials, the flames engulfed about 772 square kilometers of forest in Plumas and Butte. Rick Carhart, a spokesman for the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said firefighters carrying manual equipment were forced to climb into uneven ground and where machinery could not be reached.
